Five women enter Area X - a section of coastline in North America that has been evacuated and sealed-off by the US government.  The team of scientists are tasked with exploring the quarantined zone, and returning with information about what lies inside.  Area X reveals itself to be a fracturing landscape of forest, swamp, beach, and the abandoned structures of humankind.  The environment becomes progressively stranger, more beautiful, and more lethal as they travel to its core.  The team are soon fighting for their survival and sanity, as the secrets of Area X are uncovered and the implication for our planet becomes clear.
